    Instead of turning out to be a fiery rebuttal to his detractors, the album is a remarkable catalog of contemporary pop styles, from McCartney-esque whimsy ("Don't Ask Me Why") and arena rock ("All for Leyna") to soft rock ("C'etait Toi [You Were the One]") and stylish new wave pop ("It's Still Rock and Roll to Me," which ironically is closer to new wave pop than rock).9/

    I really like this album. "Glass Houses" contains a harder rock edge. Billy Joel proved not only can he sing a beautiful and heartfelt ballad, he can also rock! Definitely a deliberate departure from his signature sound but that's okay, because Billy is a versatile artist/5().

    Billy Joel Glass House First, this has a "CD Extra" for your computer, which I could not care less about. These so called `enhanced' CDs are always a problem and so I never bother with trying to make those portions work. However, as a CD played on a proper CD player, this is an excellent album/5().

Billy Joel is a fine Singer Songwriter and is a fine writer of songs that tell stories (a bit like Harry Chapin in the 70's) and they are worth listening to for the words not just great /5(44).
